Online casino site BackgammmonMasters.com has announced that most of its non-US players are unaware of the ‘Linden’ currency offered by the Second Life virtual world.

The Malta-based online casino site revealed that this was the result of a recent study it conducted as only 20 of the 500 international participants had ever hard of the ‘Linden’. In addition, only two of these communicated an interest in using the virtual currency to play on BackgammonMasters.com.

The site concluded that its players are not willing to use the ‘Linden’ currency in lieu of more traditional types as participants cited playing for non-virtual currencies as more enticing than using the virtual brand for game transactions including making bets and withdrawing winnings.

BackgammonMasters.com recently checked their system for accounts using famous names and found out several players using names such as Prince William, Madonna and Tom Cruise which were all proven to be fake. This drive was caused by a recent incident involving a certain Fouad Mourtada who was sentenced of 3 years imprisonment by the Moroccan government after found guilty of using the name of Moroccan Prince Moulay Rachid for a facebook profile.
